Make Spring Time Memories Using Local Florida Sand

Make Spring Time Memories Using Local Florida Sand

Sand is a multi-functional material that can be used for multiple projects! With the warm spring time weather approaching, we wanted to share some great ideas that you can easily create and enjoy making great memories using the sand we offer in both bulk and by the bag!
Looking for lakeside fun? Make your own private beach!

  1. Line your beach space with rock to keep the sand in place and avoid it from washing away during rainstorms.
  2. Fill the entire area with our local Florida sand.
  3. Add an umbrella with some chairs and voila! Instant beach area right on the water without having to leave the comfort of your home!

*For an added bonus, build a fire pit for your night time enjoyment as well!

Don’t live on a lake? No Problem! You can still create a backyard oasis for relaxation and for company! Once again, your main component of this will be our local Florida sand. Here’s how to create your whimsical set up!

  1. Find an open area in your yard that is free of debris, roots and that offers you some privacy.
  2. Decide how big you would like your area to be and line it with rock.
  3. Fill the area with the sand and level it out making sure the sand level is lower than the rock to avoid it washing it out when it rains.
  4. You have two very different options once you have your initial set up:
    • You can add a hammock and an umbrella for your personal relaxation and “me” time or
    • You can add multiple chairs and set up a fire pit to enjoy with your friends and family

Either way, this is a great way to enjoy the outdoors and give yourself and your friends the relaxing beach feeling that everyone enjoys but the benefit of doing it in your own backyard is avoiding the crowds!

Love to play sports with your friends? Volleyball courts are a great way to have some fun in the sun and they are extremely easy to make!

The suggested court dimensions are 29'6" feet by 59' feet and are measured from the outer edge of the boundary lines. Make sure you have a large enough area on a level service to build before starting. Once you have your area cleaned up all debris you are ready to build! Here is what you will need to do:

  1. Create a border going about 8-10ft from the boundary lines using PVC pipe.
  2. Place a small layer of some of our quality pea rock to provide drainage during the rainy season.
  3. Lay out your local Florida sand over the top of the pea rock being careful not to over fill.
  4. You then will need to add the poles supporting the volleyball net (should be made of stainless steel, anodized aluminum, galvanized steel, or treated wood).
  5. Add the net, a ball and some friends and you are ready for a day of fun in the sun!

If you have kids, this court can also double as a big sandbox when no one is playing on the court!
