What you need to know about Timberlite

Timberlite rock is a type of volcanic rock that comes in a natural blend of a variety of natural colors such as brown, tan, cream, and coral. This unique, decorative stone mirrors the look of wood chips. Similar to lava rock, timberlite rock retains little heat, which is ideal for the Florida climate. Timberlite will add a pop of color to any landscape while still looking classic and natural. This type of rock is optimal to prevent soil erosion, for use as a ground cover to help retain soil moisture, and to suppress the growth of weeds. Timberlite is a practical, decorative, and durable addition to landscape beds.

Our inorganic mulch is often used by customers that enjoy having a clean and low maintenance mulching product for their landscape. Unlike organic mulches, inorganic mulches do not need to be replenished yearly due to decomposition or being displaced by wind or rain. The cost for Timberlite is higher than organic mulches such as our red mulch, however Timberlite has desirable attributes. Over time Timberlite will lose some of its color, but unlike organic mulch products a pressure wash is all that is required to bring our product back to a vibrance like-new condition. Gardeners who prefer to know what chemicals are being introduced into their soil choose using Timberlite as their mulching solution because it will not decompose nor add any substances over time.

We recommend adding a layer of Timberlite that is at least three inches in depth but no deeper than five to get the best possible functionality from our product. The practical benefits of using Timberlite in a landscape include reduced watering and maintenance costs and creating a better soil environment for your plants. A protective layer of Timberlite applied on your landscape reduces the amount of direct sunlight will reach your topsoil. This lowers the amount of water your landscape feature will require because to the reduction of evaporation. Seeds of weeds that are attempting to invade your landscape will be unable to reach sunlight after they sprout. This inaccessibility to sunlight kills the weed before it has a chance to set its roots and acts as an effective weed control.

Timberlite will be a great addition to any yard as it compliments any type of landscape and landscape feature. Timberlite can also be used to create an beautiful garden edging or the siding to create a front walkway. Natural stones are an ideal edging material to highlight gardens, flower beds, and other landscaping features. Everglades Timberlite rock ready for instore pick up or delivery. We have Timberlite rock in two cubic foot bags ready to replenish displaced Timberlite rock, or in bulk ready to be delivered to your preferred location. We will deposit the rock to your desired location depending on accessibility. Our trucks are unable to drive over grass due to the possibility of damaging underground pipes and septic tanks. Providing a safe and natural product that will protect your plants is our privilege.
